Green Galore, Chocolate Chip.
Well Mel, I gotta admit when I sat
these colours together on my table,
my first thought was "Oh Yuck"!
LOL, I just couldn't picture that
bright green in anything but a
kids card or christmas card!
So I pulled out my stamps and
put aside 3 or 4 sets I thought that
could be possibilities, and once again
went with the Artfully Asian set.
I have only just purchased this set
and as you can tell I'm lovin'it.
I put the not so Glorious Green
through my matching Cuttlebug
for the base card, then stamped the peach branches in Choc Chip,
Coloured the flowers with the Lavender Lace the leaves with
Glorious Green, and the buds with choc chip. I then put Glossy
Accents on the flowers and buds to raise them out.
The wording from the Sage Advice was stamped in Choc Chip
and as you can see it was mounted on both the choc chip card
and the lavender lace with a choc chip ribbon added down the
side.
Well Mel, when I finished this card, I thought I don't mind that.
These challenges really make you work out of the box, I can
honestly say glorious green is not a colour I would comfortably
pick up and add to those other colours of my own accord.
But saying that.........................
When I finished it, I just had to make a kids card with the
colours, so this week I have 2 cards. (It doesn't rain, it pours)
(Oh we wish!!!)
This card shows how bright it actually is close up.
I put the green through the Cuttlebug again in what I call the crocodile skin embosser. I stamped the croc in the Glorious green onto the white card, then stictched the white to the LL and the LL to the CC and then stitched that to the embossed GG and then stitched that to the LL. I cut stars with the SU Punches and stitched around the big one.
In the bottom right I used the happy thoughts stamp set and a glorious green button.
Thanks for the challenge Mel, I really enjoyed it.
Cheers,
